How to Choose a Resort at Walt Disney World

Updated: Oct 28, 2023

Walt Disney World has over 25 resorts to choose from so how do you decide which one is the best fit for your family?

Here are some of the first questions we ask our clients when they’re trying to choose a resort for their Walt Disney World vacation:

#1. How many people will be in your room?

Rooms at any hotel have a maximum occupancy, which means only so many people are allowed to occupy each room. There’s quite the range of options at Walt Disney World; some standard rooms have a maximum capacity of four people while some cabins and bungalows can accommodate up to twelve people. There’s something for every family size and we can help you determine what you need for your party size.

#2. What kind of amenities do you want your resort to have?

What kinds of things do you want your resort to have? A pool with a waterslide or splash pad? Grab-and-go dining options or a sit down restaurant? Concierge service or a club lounge? There are resorts with some or all of these amenities; determining your priorities will help us to match you to the right resort for your family.

#3. Is being close to any particular park important to you?

Walt Disney World is a big place, and while none of the on-site resorts are further than 20-25 minutes from anything, it’s important to consider the location of your resort. Staying close to the Magic Kingdom may mean having access to the monorail or boat transportation options, while staying close to Hollywood Studios may mean being able to ride Disney’s Skyliner to the park. We'll chat about your park plans and discuss a resort location that best suits them.

#4. What do you want to spend?

Finally, and most importantly, you need to have a general idea of what you’re willing to pay per night. Walt Disney World resorts have rooms with nightly rates that range from $200 to $2500 and everything in between. We’ll gladly work with you to find a resort that is within your budget.

Don’t worry if you don’t have all the answers yet, that’s what we’re here for!

It’s our job to match you to the best Walt Disney World Resort for you and your family; we’ll work together to make it happen.
